After the dinner

The night was cold, and it was late. Finding a cab was going to take patience and we had none of that. We had both walked out, hands interlocked, to the chilly breeze. Within seconds of waiting, I was freezing. "I'm freezing," I declared wrapping my arms around me. He turned to look at me before he held me in his arms. "Let's enter a bike, it's easier to get." I nodded. When the bike stopped, I climbed first, then he entered behind me. "Come over here," he nicely ordered as he made me relax into his warm embrace. "What do you want to do tonight?" He asked casually. I bit my tongue. "I want to be happy." "And happy you would be." I smiled a little, then rested my head on his chin. Soon we were at his place, we climbed down and I walked in ahead of him while he paid. I knew where his key was, it was always under the carpet. I bent to pick it up then let my self in. The room was warm, the ligh...

At the dinner

This night, I was his date to his departmental dinner. Harry was dressed in a black tux, no tie, no suit, just ironed black pants and his polished black shoe. Since his place was closer to the venue, I met him there. Bridgette gave me the advice, the one that was getting harder to heed to everyday. The one where she told me to lock it up because he wasn't my boyfriend anymore. I had laughed at her tone, but as I stood in front of him that night, I prayed for forgiveness because I knew I was going to sin. His pupils looked darker, it was the same way they had looked last two months when we were still a couple and he'd kiss me in bed. The way he looked at me now was exactly how he looked at me when he'd spread my legs open with just his knee. I tightened my hold on my black purse.  "You look really good." His voice pierced into whatever wall of silence that had enveloped us. I simply smiled back in response. "You ready?" He asked after he ...

My Christmas insight

Man, In his own image we were created Given power to rule the earth But the serpent couldn't let it be A plan he formulated There was a forbidden fruit Which man wasn't meant to eat But the serpent lured, and man fell The fall of man God looked down on us With pity and love so surplus He decided to bring us salvation Through his son, we were given the gift of redemption It was a great decision The most thoughtful gift that can't go into extinction The coming of our Messiah Prophesied by Isiah A beginning of the creation Of a new generation With victory declaration A call for celebration The coming of our savior With love peace and favor The dawn of a new era Our Redeemer forever He caused the serpent to surrender A day we'll forever remember I do not speak of a fake But a giver so true His life he agreed to sacrifice That we may be assured of eternal life Sited around the fire The Christmas light illuminating the chilly night Dre...

How to melt your writer's block

It is unarguably correct that as a writer, you would have experienced writer's block at least twice. I personally have experienced it a million times that's why I was pushed to write this. I really hope it's helpful, like extremely helpful. Dive in please. In this post I'll be sharing the tips I use that help me get over my writer's block. First off, I want to make it clear and known that writer's block and writer's laziness are two different things. If you have the story idea, everything's ready in your mind but you're too lazy to pen it down then I'm sorry because all I can tell you is write it now that you can. Time isn't  waiting for your laziness to pass honey. On the other hand, if you don't know how to start that story, or you're stuck somewhere and can't seem to move, welcome on board. I'll go on to discuss the tips. The first one is, Change of environment or schedule; This always seems to work for me. Bei...

MY MOMENT OF PLEASURE

Image
He was furious, I was seething with anger. We were even, there was no one ready to apologize to the other so we stood side by side each other in front of the kitchen island taking deep calming breaths. I stepped back a little so I could see his lean back. My hands ached to touch them passionately and at the same time painfully. I wanted to kiss him, and at the same time hit him. I hated the fact that he cared for her. He wasn't doing anything wrong by caring for a good friend who was going through hell, he was doing wrong by neglecting me in the process. He was giving her more than he had ever given me. His back flexed as he moved away from the island to switch off the light leaving me in pure darkness. I buried my head in my palms and took more steady breaths. He must have left me alone to sort my self out. Maybe he thought I was being unnecessarily jealous. I was scared I was handling it the wrong way and would chase him away but I was too tired to have rational thoughts and...

Adulthood

I want to be an adult Little me said Didn't know it would be hard Thought my life would be in order But the more I try it's in disarray Have to watch my parents grow old I'm not strong enough to be alone I really want to make them proud But then I'm scared I might let them down My life's becoming tragic My decisions are too drastic My steps; now hasty My adult hood's just getting started My goals haven't been reached My win these days are brief Then failure comes to smile at me My self confidence slowly dies Responsibility's weighing me down Thoughts of suicide now easily creep in The struggles are getting real We call it the hustle Once, our trouble was picking what to eat Now, we can't see what to eat I find it hard to believe in my beliefs My faith, slowly and steadily diminishes Beliefs of my God, beliefs of an after life Beliefs of love, beliefs of happy ever after I could proudly call this my trial stage My harde...
